Good Times with Peeps

Peepaw was visiting us for a little while the last few weeks. He was able to watch the girls run at Chile pepper, the girls play in the state golf tournament, and Jack play in his last high school state tournament. We also went to his favorite restaurant, Monte Ne Chicken House and to Top Golf. He played at Lost Springs with Jack, and watched the girls play at Blessings. The dogs liked having him around too. It was a fun couple of weeks!

Painting Pumpkins

The girls volunteered at St. Stephen's parish festival at the pumpkin painting table. They all painted a pumpkin, too.

Boys 6A State Golf Tournament

The tournament was at Springdale Country Club this year. The first day Jack struggled (77) but the team was Conference champions and one stroke back from Little Rock Catholic. Day two started strong with Rogers keeping it close until the last 9 holes when they started to separate. Bentonville, who was in third by 11 strokes from day one, started to creep up on Rogers and by the end of the round, they were tied. Jack finished the day 3 over (74) but was 4 over on his last 3 holes. There was a play off for runner-up and Rogers and Bentonville had their two seniors play hole 9 (long par 3) and the lowest total would win the hole. If still tied, they would move on to hole 1 and keep playing until one team had the lower score. Both Rogers boys hit it on the green to about 15 ft (Jack) and 20 feet (Cohen). The Bentonville boys both missed the green. They both chipped it close and would likely make their par putts. Cohen putted his to about a foot and putted it in for par. Jack had to two putt to tie again and move on to hole one. Instead, he made the putt. This hole he bogeyed the two tournament days and in the play-off, he birdied. It was an exciting way to finish the season for Jack and Cohen, even though it was not for the win.
