VBS and Golf Camp

The girls have been going to VBS this week and have been having fun with their friends. Jack has been at golf camp at the first tee. Today he was lowest score in his group by sinking his last putt, so he was pretty excited.

Jack's World Series Photo

We purchased this photo at Jack's world series

OKC World Series 9U

We traveled to Oklahoma City on Friday afternoon for Jack's final game of the season. It was a World Series. The team played three games on Saturday and three games on Sunday and finished 4th overall. The most exciting game was the second game on Sunday afternoon. If they lost it, they were out of the bracket. The boys were down 5-10 and running out of time. There was 10 seconds left on the clock when Isiah made a double play to end the inning. Because time did not run out, we started another inning. The Express boys came back that inning to score 5 runs to tie it 10-10 and were able to hold the other team from scoring by another double play by the same player! Then they started the tie-breaker rule, which meant the team at bat started a player at second base and with one out. Jack was up to bat and he hit it over the fence! It was so exciting. However, since the teammates touched him (they were so excited) before he hit home plate, the run didn't count and it was counted as an out. On the next play the boy grounded out so it was the other team's turn to bat. They scored one run, so it was tied again 11-11. Our boys were up to bat again and scored one run, making it 12-11. In the last at bat for the other team, our boys made another double play to end the game. It was a crazy game to watch and so exciting for the boys to come behind to win. After this game, the boys played again about an hour later and lost so they were done with the season.

We made some great friends this season and Jack showed a lot of improvement and he had a lot of fun playing. We are very proud of him. We are already looking forward to playing next season!

Between games on Saturday, the girls all fell asleep which is really rare!

We set up a movie for the little kids under a shaded tent

A mom on his team captured this photo, which I am so thankful for
after his home run
After he hit it over the fence, I didn't think to get any pictures or video, but thankfully another mom took pictures and another one video taped him coming into home.

Last at bat for him this season--he hit with the bases loaded and fielder's choice out at second.
The two Annas
One of his teammate's older brother ran behind the fence and found his ball and brought it back to us.
Jack was very excited G-Maw and PeePaw were able to see him play this weekend.

Proud sisters and Mom
Crazy boys
Twenty minutes into the ride home and they were all asleep (except Jack who was riding home with PeePaw

We got back home around 8:45 and after he showered, he fell asleep next to his home run ball.

Jr. Clinic at the LPGA

The kids and I went to the Jr. Clinic today put on by the first tee. Maria Fassi from the University of Arkansas women's golf team spoke to the kids first and then each kid was able to hit the club a few times and putt a few times.  It was crazy hot, but we bared the heat while listening to her and hitting a few strokes.
