Pack the Sack (and Kate's 7th Tooth)

The third grade did a service project packing food for the homeless and poor. They packed 5,300 meals by working together. It was a great experience and the girls really learned a lot from it.

(Kate lost her 7th tooth last night, too!)

Kate also learned her round-off, back-handspring, back tuck outside this afternoon

Basketball Games

The girls won't their game this morning. They played the other St. Vincent de Paul team. I thought I kept track of their points, but I don't see them in my phone. The final score was 19-5. I think Elizabeth scored two or three times and Kate and Anna each scored once or twice. Jack's team lost both games as well. The first game was to Bentonville and they lost by at least 25 points and the second game should have been a lot closer, but they lost by about 20. It wasn't their best weekend.

St. Vincent vs. St. Joseph

Jack has been waiting all season to play in the home gym and tonight was the night. It was the 7th/8th grade spirit night and a lot of his 5th grade friends came to watch him which was very nice. They cheered so much for him while he was playing. He loved every minute of the game and told me so after. St. Joseph is a great basketball team and although we kept it close in the first half, they put in their "A" team and ended up beating us by 20 points. Jack scored one basket and one free throw.

Basketball Games

The girls lost their basketball game this morning. It was their first loss in two years. The final score was 11-18. They were winning until the last few minutes of the game. Elizabeth scored once and Kate scored once.

New Rooms

We finally ordered new beds for the girls' rooms and got up the rest of their wall decor. They all have desks and chairs and carpet. Kate and Elizabeth had to switch rooms because Kate's bed was too big for the rooms he originally picked.

Anna's room has been finished, but she loves her desk.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

We had a day off school today and I took the kids to see the movie Wonder. Jack read the book last week, and the girls used their learning ally app to listen to it. Anna finished all 307 pages in one day! That's a big deal for that girl. The movie was a good one. I am glad the kids are getting old enough to read the books that they turn into movies, too!

Negative Temperatures

Well, it's 0 today and wind chills are -15, so they cancelled school. We had a nice lazy, relaxing day keeping warm inside.

New Hairstyle

Anna did her own hair today and wanted me to take a picture. She wanted it to be curly for school tomorrow!

Ice Skating

The girls have been waiting to go ice skating downtown, and since the last day the rink is open is tomorrow, I took them today. Jack did not want to go. The girls did really well. For as little as they have ice skated, they seemed to be getting the hang of it. No more using the red walkers and they were cruising along (with a few falls)!
