Track Meet in Oklahoma

Well, the meet was 2.5 hours away instead of 2 like I thought and it started 25 minutes late. And it was so disorganized that the 400 heats took 2 hours and we had to leave to get back for mock exams. So Kate only ran the 400 (1:10), the 4x100 (first place 57 seconds) and Elizabeth and Anna barely finished the 1500. Anna was 4th (5:32) and Elizabeth was 5th (5:40). Then we rushed back to Bentonville to make it just in time for their ballet exams.

Mock Exams and Pointe Shoes

The girls did their mock exams today after a quick trip back from the track meet! Elizabeth was awarded gold with distinction which was only given one other time this week in all the exams done in the Conservatory. Kate and Anna both were awarded gold. Anna was upset she messed up on part of the dance. All three were moved up to RAD 5 and beginning pointe for next year. They are really excited.

Braces...Again

Within a few days of getting his braces off he had for two years, Jack developed a gap between his front teeth. We decided to go with another orthodontist who promised to fix the gap instead of sending us to get all six front teeth bonded. So he will have these braces for about nine months. Hopefully that is the end of it all for him.

HCAA Conference Golf Match

The kids competed in the HCAA Conference match in Shawnee, OK today with a few other kids from school. It was a long course for the girls playing at the same tee distance as the high school girls. With a max double par, Elizabeth won with a 56, Kate and Anna both had 60s so tied for 2nd. Anna technically won the tie with the lowest score on the hardest handicap hole, but they decided to share the medal. They were the only jr. high girls playing. Jack had a rough day. He didn't know the course well and ran into unexpected water a few times. He finished tied for second.
