Jack's Final Basketball Tournament

The St. Vincent boys finished up their season tonight in the tournament. They lost their first game, although it was so close! This was the team that beat the boys last weekend by 25 points. They started off too slow and the score was 12-0 (they were losing), but came back strong to make it 19-7, and the final score was 19-17. There were a few packets that could have gone at the end of the game, but they basically ran out of time. Jack scored two points in that game. The won their second game, 21-14 and he scored two points in that game, too. They had a forfeit in the next game which put them into the finals of the consolation bracket. They played Bentonville West, a team that beat them by 20 points in the regular season and kept it very close the whole game. Towards the end, the coach put the second string in to play, so the score ended up being 22-11 even though it was a closer game. Jack scored 5 points in that game. They finished runners up at received medals after the final game. Jack had a great year playing with the 6th grade boys and learned a ton. There are so many good players out there and it really improved his game to play with the older boys. He had a goal to score 20 points this year and he did. Next year he will be able to play this league again, but actually be the right age.
