Strava Stats

Well, I didn't get as many running miles as usual due to my Achilles issues in the spring and Tenex surgery in September. I did PR in the half marathon in February with a 1:39 and did a virtual Bentonville half and Virtual Boston, but overall it was a weird year with COVID. My running miles were 1225 and I had over 2.000 biking and over 600 walking. I was also in the pool on average once a week.

All the Cards

Sarah has framed her Christmas cards each year and I have been wanting to do this, so I dug them all out (missing two) and ordered some frames. I will put them out at Christmas! I also found a lot of my old Christmas letters!

Driving Home

Ollie was so tired from his stay at the Frazier house. He slept much better on the car ride home and didn't want to switch from the front seat to the back seat quite as much as the way there.

Christmas Play

The kids put on a Christmas play this year, it was a Nativity play with baby JJ as baby Jesus! The girls were the three wisemen.

Christmas with Szczepanskis

We spent Sunday visiting both sides of the family. I made egg nog, the one from Grandfather. I have the recipe memorized I have made it so much. 12 eggs separated, beat the whites to stiff peaks and add 1 cup sugar. Add 1 cup sugar to yokes and mix with 1 cup brandy and 1 cup dark rum. Mix four 1/2 pint heavy whipping cream into stiff peaks and add 1 cup sugar. Fold the cream and egg whites together. Add to the yokes and fold it all together. Add gallon of milk and gallon of vanilla ice cream. Nutmeg on top! We had a turkey dinner at Szczepanskis in the evening and the kids played. On Monday morning, the kids got up and we started presents at 9 am. After presents, we had eggs, ham sandwiches, salad, veggies and fruit. We went for a nice walk in the afternoon even though it was cold. Then we loaded up the car to leave in the morning. The girls loved their ballet pointe show decorated like a Chinese theme in their Nutcracker from Grandmom and Jack got a new jacket which he needed and some books, wallet and money.

Christmas with the Scudders

Geemaw and Peepaw did not come to Indiana this year because of COVID, but we still celebrated with the rest of the family. The kids opened up their gifts they shipped to our house on Christmas while we facetimed them. We got up at 3am the day after Christmas and left at 4 to drive to the Frazier's house to celebrate. We made it there around 3pm. The kids did a little gift exchange and had a lot of fun playing in a ping pong tournament. John S. ended up winning the whole thing this year like last year. After gifts, we had Mexican for dinner and plenty of cookies, pie and candy. Elizabeth loved her cotton candy maker, Jack loved his s'more maker and Anna loved her skateboard. Kate was excited about her slippers and all three girls loved the picture of Ollie and them. Jack got some nice Birkenstocks and a cool golf vest.
