Princesses and Superheros on the Square

We met our friend downtown for Sidewalk Sunday on the Square. This week's theme was princesses and super heroes. The girls enjoyed seeing the princesses, coloring and getting their face painted even though it was 100 degrees! After, we stopped for ice cream and then the girls stuck their feet in the fountain before Shelby and her mom came back to our house to swim for a while. Jack and John played some golf instead of hanging out with the princesses and super heroes.

Kate took these pictures of Anna's show--that dress is my old dance recital dress

Dad's Birthday Present

After their soccer game (Elizabeth scored two goals, but the team lost), the girls decorated John's birthday gift. I know it is early, but I figured he would use it considering he has another trip this week (it was a nice piece of luggage).

We also have been enjoying the garden (finally). I have made one batch of pickles, we have been eating cherry tomatoes and we had enough beefsteak tomatoes to make caprese salad. Anna and Jack loved the salad, Kate only at the cheese and Elizabeth had toast (she is my picky one).

Early Morning Run

I have been having to run really early to beat the heat and this morning I saw a few deer in our neighborhood.

Naturals Game

We went to the Naturals game with some friends tonight. It was so much fun, but it was crazy hot--even after the sun went down. The girls rode on the train and spent some time rolling down the hill. Jack took his friend with him and they were more interested in the game. Jack even caught a ball after one of the innings and he was so excited about it.The kids got free hot dogs and chips at the game and were able to run the bases after the game.
