Negative Temperatures

Well, it's 0 today and wind chills are -15, so they cancelled school. We had a nice lazy, relaxing day keeping warm inside.

New Hairstyle

Anna did her own hair today and wanted me to take a picture. She wanted it to be curly for school tomorrow!

Ice Skating

The girls have been waiting to go ice skating downtown, and since the last day the rink is open is tomorrow, I took them today. Jack did not want to go. The girls did really well. For as little as they have ice skated, they seemed to be getting the hang of it. No more using the red walkers and they were cruising along (with a few falls)!

Girls' Game

The girls had an exciting game today. They started very slow and missed a lot of shots in the first half of the game. Kate scored once, but the score at halftime was 12-4. They came back very strong in the second half and ended up winning the game, 22-14. The scorekeeper messed up the score at the end of the game and actually had the final score 22-16 and would not change it, even when the other team's coach admitted it was wrong. It was frustrating, especially when they were coming up from behind and it looked like the ending game score was going to be close! Kate scored 6 points, Elizabeth scored 4 points and Anna scored 6 points. There is a possibility that Anna scored 8 points and Kate scored 4...it was up for debate on the way home and I honestly don't remember. Regardless, they all did well and played hard.

Jack's Basketball Games

Jack is winding down his season. He has one more regular game weekend and then he tournament the first week in February. They will also play St. Joseph in a home game at the end of the month. They played with only 7 players tonight. Jack played a lot more than he usually does. They lost the first game 8-36. Jack scored once in that game. They won the second game, 28-23 and he also scored once in that game as well.

Arkansas vs. Kentucky Gymnastics Meet

I took the girls to the Arkansas gymnastics meet tonight with the McCarty girls and McFaddens. We like going to a meet each year. This meet was a candy land theme and the kids all got a bag of candy and a hershey bar when they got inside the doors. Kentucky is pretty good this year and the meet was close. I think the final score was less than 0.5 difference.
