Vegas

The girls and I went to Vegas so Anna could run in the AAU West Coast Nationals and try to qualify to the AAU Nationals since she missed qualifying at regionals. We stayed with PeePaw and GeeMaw. Anna ran the 1500m on Saturday morning, early, but it was still hot! She ran 5:35.68, not a PR, but well considering she was not walking 10 days ago. She finished 5th. Saturday afternoon, the girls went swimming, and we also went down the the strip. We watched the fountains at the Bellagio and I even showed them how dumb gambling was ($5 in the slots, and I ended up winning $30). Sunday was more bright and early running by Anna. She qualified in the 3000m (3rd with 12:12.65) and 6th in the 800m (2:49.87). She was happy with her performances. After the meet on Sunday, we went to get nails done and when it cooled off, to play miniature golf. We left Monday morning to fly back home. It was a fun weekend!

Trip to Fort Wayne for July 4th

We spend the weekend in Fort Wayne with family, leaving Thursday and coming back Tuesday. Grandmom and Granddad were blessed at mass on Saturday night for the 50th wedding anniversary (in October, but we celebrated now) and then we all went to Casa's for dinner. Sunday, we went to Pokagon State Park and spend the night at the hotel. the kids swam in the lake during the day, then we went to BW3s for dinner. After dinner, we played games/cards. It was nice to have everyone together. On Monday (July 4th), we went to Chiazza's house for dinner. It was a quick trip, but nice to see everyone.
