Milesplit Write-up for First Race

 

First Cross Country Meet as Sophomores!

 The girls went to Overland Park, KS to run in the Greg Wilson Classic. The team won with almost a perfect score (17 points). Anna and Elizabeth both set PRs even though they were a little under the weather with colds (19:00.4 for Elizabeth and 19:06.50 for Anna). Kate finished 6th with a 19:00.20. Elizabeth was 7th and Anna was 8th. The weather was perfect--56* and the course was flat.

 There was a short article in the newspaper about the start of the cross country season. 

Taking Care of Ollie and Ted

 We had friends come by this week to walk the boys since John is out of town. They fed us too!

Labor Day Lake

 John and the girls went to the lake to a friend of John's from Walmart. The girls skied and tubed. John even tried to ski! Jack went to a retreat at New Life Ranch for the weekend. 

Saddles

If you are a Rogers Mountie cross country runner, you will know the meaning of the word "saddles." The kids run at Lake Atalanta where there are so many hills. Saddles are two hills they run up and down and on a map, they look like a saddle. They get crazy elevation doing this run--like 200 ft per mile!
