Fort Wayne~Tuesday

Well, we made it to Indiana and right away, the kids were excited. Today it rained most of the day, but the kids played all day with the Szczepanski kids. Jack stayed all night there and Maria stayed with us at Grandmom's house. In the afternoon, we went to the Szczepanski's house to see Maria's new room (and Emily's and Elizabeth's). Aunt Ryann was hard at work rearranging rooms! After dinner, Aunt Ryann snapped a few family pictures for us.

 

 Aunt Julie helped make the American girl scarves with the girls (it was their birthday gift). They loved making them!

Jack's Baseball Stats

Here are Jack's end of the year stats. He improved so much since last fall. This doesn't include today's two hits. He was team leader in doubles, triples, batting average, slugging and on base percentage. His teammates all signed his paper. We are very proud of him. Hopefully, we can find another team for him to play with on the fall.

Arkansas State Baseball 8U A

Jack's team played in the state tournament this weekend. His team played well, but were missing two players so they had to use subs that have never played with the boys. We were also missing our usual pitcher. They tied their first pool game, and lost a close second game, 3-2. The bracket today was single elimination and they lost their first game to the #3 seed, 10-2. Jack played really well to end the season, though with two hits and probably the best pop fly catch to left field he has had all year. He dove for the ball and seemed surprised to have the ball in his glove.

After the game, we had the boys over to our house for swimming and pizza. Next year Jack and two others will have to leave this team because of where their birthdays fall. They will have to play 9U, while the rest can still play 8U. It was a fun year and we will miss these boys and coaches.

Ronnie Brewer Baskeball Camp

Jack went to the Ronnie Brewer basketball camp this week in Fayetteville. He really didn't like it too well last year, so we were suprised he wanted to do it again, but he did and he loved it. He had a few friends that did it with him so I think that helped. He also won the 5 on 5 tournament and got an award! He was excited about his trophy.

First Tee Tournament

Jack had his second round of the first tee tournaments today. He started out a little better on the first hole and shot a 6, but ended up with the same score as last week (23).

LPGA Jr. Golf Clinic

Pinnacle Golf course hosted a LPGA tournament this weekend and they invited the members of the first tee for a jr. clinic this afternoon on the golf course back range. A few LPGA professionals talked to the kids first, then each child took turns hitting the ball and putting. It was pretty cool, except it was about 100 degrees! After the clinic, they brought us to the 18th green to watch some of the players coming in and they had refreshments, drinks and door prizes. Anna won the huge prize! It was sponsored by Mattel and Walmart, so she won a few barbies, dolls, and other toys. We ended up giving some toys to our friends who were with us. Jack also won a game called Skipbo. It was a fun (hot) afternoon.
