Bowling

We went to use our free bowling games today. We signed up with Kids Bowl Free and we can bowl two games all summer. The kids did fairly well. I think everyone did better the second game and Jack beat me in the second game!

Barnes and Noble Books

Well, I mentioned we started the reading program at the Bentonville library, but we also joined the summer reading program at B&N. The kids had to read eight books, and Anna and Elizabeth finished this morning, so I took them to get their free book. Anna picked The Princess in Black and Elizabeth picked an American Girl book on Caroline (her American girl doll). They were so excited. While at B&N, they decided to play on the stage and performed songs from Sound of Music. Silly girls.

Jack's Well Check

I took Jack to see Dr. O for his well check today. He checked out healthy. He weighed 61 pounds (60th percentile) and was 52.5 inches tall (68th percentile). Dr. O thought he would be tall--over 6 feet.

Baseball

The girls are experts with watching/entertaining each other through baseball practices and games. Tonight, they enjoyed watching and playing with their new stuffed dogs.

Let the Summer Begin

Over Memorial Day weekend, the we bought a new car for John, the kids had a lemonade stand, we swam, played soccer and baseball in the yard and rode bikes.

On Tuesday, technically our first day of summer vacation, I took the kids to walmart to spend their lemonade money--which we tried to tell them it is okay to SAVE it, but it was burning a hole in their pockets. The girls bought a dog for their American girl dolls and Jack bought a sweatband. After Walmart, I took the kids to the library to sign up for the summer reading program. In the car, Jack put his headband and very seriously asked me, "Mom, do you think I can wear this until I play in the NBA." and then, "When I get drafted." It was very cute. I told him, of course he could. I had to snap a picture of him wearing it. He has been wearing it nonstop this week since.

Memorial Day

I think this is the third year we have been able to wear these skirts, and I think it could be our last.

After School Party

We invited a few friends over after mass today for lunch, swimming and playing. Although the water was a little chilly, the kids still had fun playing together.
