The Easter Bunny Came!

Easter Egg Hunt

I took the girls to the Easter Egg Hunt at the church today. Jack did not want to go. They were a little disappointed they had to go with the older group this year and it was harder to get eggs. But, they had fun.

Good Friday

Grandmom and Granddad came on Wednesday. The kids didn't go to school on Thursday and had Friday off. They played a lot of games with Grandmom and Granddad. Grandmom taught the girls how to play double solitaire and would not let them stop playing until she won--just like the old days! She doesn't win much, so needless-to-say they were playing cards a lot. We also colored eggs. Jack didn't want to help this year, so the girls did them all. On Friday, we went to the Gean's for dinner after the prayer service at St. Stephen. The kids were very sad to see them go on Saturday to Texas, but will see them on Tuesday on their way back to Indiana.

Jack's Grades

I got a nice email about Jack today from his social studies teacher telling me he is doing a good job in class. Always nice to hear!

AR Star Tests

Anna and Kate have dramatically improved on their reading this year. This is their latest Star assessment tests. They both started out at 1.9-2.9 at the beginning of the year. Kate is now 2.9-4.2. Anna is now 3.2-4.9. Good job girls!

Pie in the Face

I have been on the committee again this year for our school fundraiser, Slay the 5k. Today, we got to pies in two teachers faces and the principal because we reached our goal of registrations! It was very funny! All the students loved it.

Jack's Baseball Tournament

They played in their first real tournament this weekend. On Saturday, they lost the first game 6-11 to the Neosho Wildcats that ended up winning the tournament. Jack has one hit in that game and one strike out. He also pitched 1.3 innings pretty well. They played Pea Ridge Tornado and tied, 8-8. Jack had one hit, one run, one RBI and one Sac. He played first base and right field one inning. On Sunday, they played the Yellow Jackets and lost 17-3. It was so cold, the boys didn't look like they were ready to play in that weather. Jack had one RBI, one strike out and one Sac. He pitched and played first. The Yellow Jackets ended up coming in second in the tournament. After the tournament, a few of the boys came to our house for some basketball and more baseball--wiffle ball in the front yard.

Jack has been going to a boot camp class once or twice a week. I take him on Sundays and do the class with him, but Mondays when the girls are at the gym, he gets a ride with a friend of mine to the class since I can't go. Shaina sent me this picture of him waiting with her dog before they went to class. He says he thinks about hitting a home run while doing the push-ups during the class. Hopefully he does!
