Orange Beach-- Day One and Two June 29-30

We left Friday afternoon to drive part of the way down to Alabama around 2pm. We hit something just past Fort Smith flying in the road from the person in front of us. Unfortunately, the tire pressure gauge light came on when we got to Little Rock and so we decided to stop and check out the tires. We had one tire completely flat and the other tire had been giving us some trouble in the past week, so we quickly drove ten miles down the road to a Walmart before they closed to get two new tires put on. We were lucky to make it there before they closed and they were able to help us out. We got back on the road again and made it to Jackson, MS by 11pm with enough time to sleep and then get up the next morning to make the rest of the four hour trip to Orange beach. We hit a little traffic in the Mobile bridge, but it wasn't too bad. We ended up meeting the Druelles for lunch around noon then hit the beach. Our house was not ready, but we were able to enjoy the beach and the kids even changed into swim suits to get in and ride the waves. The rain came in late that afternoon, so we hit the souvenir shops and found sweatshirts and tee shirts for the kids before checking into our house around 4pm. The house was very nice. It was brand new and big enough for all of us to roam around and enough beds to sleep in. Jeremy made spaghetti for dinner and after a few card games and an outdoor movie projected on the next door house, we called it a day and hit the beds.
