The girls had their first track meet tonight in Farmington. They placed second as a team with 109 points. 70 of the points came from the girls. Kate was second in the triple jump 30-4. She missed her PR by 2 inches. Elizabeth set a PR by about a foot and was 3rd in the triple jump, 29-5.5. Anna set a PR in the high jump at 4-2, placing 6th. Anna won the 1600m with a new PR of 5:27.90. She beat her own school record. She closed with a 75 second last lap to pass Maggie, the little girl from Providence. Elizabeth had a huge PR of about 18 seconds, 5:36.82 and placed 3rd. Anna ran the 400 about 15 minutes after the mile, coming from behind again and finished first with a PR, 1:03.26. She also broke her own school record in the 400m. All three did the 4x400m relay and won! They set a school record by about 5 seconds, 4:32.74. Kate and Elizabeth ran the 800m and finished 1st and 2nd (ahead of Maggie). Kate ran a 2:31.43, setting a school record, but not a PR, Elizabeth ran a 2:33.26 setting a 7 second PR.
Anna's 1600m time is the fastest in the state for 8th graders, and Elizabeth's is second. Including all high schoolers, Anna is 6th in the state with her 1600m time, and Elizabeth's is 8th. Kate's 800m time is the fastest in the state for all 8th graders and Elizabeth's is second in the state. Anna's 400m is the fastest in the state for 8th grade girls, and 9th for all high schoolers. Kate and Elizabeth have the longest jumps in the triple for all 8th graders in Arkansas. Anna has the 3rd highest high jump in the state for all 8th graders. It was a great first meet!
