Indoor State

Anna is still coming back from her stress fractures, but Kate and Elizabeth were able to compete in the state meet. Rogers High School girls came in second to Bentonville, 130-111. Fayetteville was right behind Rogers with 102.5 points. It was a nice change not to see Bentonville blow away all the competition. Kate and Elizabeth were part of the 4x800 relay team. They took out Lilly and Kayla, the fastest two splits from the relay a few weeks ago and replaced them with Olivia and Sam. When Bentonville got to the meet on Saturday morning and saw Rogers took out their top runners, they watered down their relay team too. Ironically, they watered it down too much. Plus Sam and Olivia both set massive PRs in their legs. Rogers won 9:44.77 to Bentonville's 9:52.34. So Kate and Elizabeth are state champions again. They will get to pick out a ring soon. Kate also ran the 3200 which she has never ran. She finished 4th 11:50.65 and Elizabeth ran the 800m and had a terrible start and was pushed to the back. She tried to sprint to catch up on the outside lanes, but she burned herself out and ran a 2:32.69 for 10th. It was a great experience for them this year.
