Ready for Thanksgiving!

The girls made these hats at school and they wore them ALL day today!

Newspaper Picture

I went to the Villiager Newspaper office yesterday and picked up some extra copies of the paper with the girls' picture. Here it is.

Zoo Day

We went to the zoo as a family today, which we hardly ever do. It was very crowded. I guess a few other people in Cleveland thought it would be a good zoo day too--being that it was in the 70s.

Check out page ten. I was told by a lady at church last month she saw the girls in the newspaper, but she couldn't remember which paper. Today, while out, we picked up a newspaper I have never seen and I researched back issues and found the girls from the homecoming parade. I am going to see if they will reprint the newspaper for us.

Basketball AND Football

This is the first Saturday that Jack had both basketball and football games. The seasons overlap for a few more weeks. Of course, John had to work today...well, I did what I had to. We all loaded up and sat through his basketball game at 10:15. We came home for 30 minutes, ate lunch and loaded back up to head over to football. The girls did OK. Kate is my tough one. She wants to play! I have to keep telling her to get off the field or court so the boys don't run her over!

They practiced for the first 20 minutes, then played a game. Jack has improved so much from last year. He got a rebound today and guarded his player (they use wrist bands in different colors to know who to guard). His team consists of kindergartners and first graders.

Oh, and purses, of course!

Anna clapping and cheering! The girls would clap "for Jack" even when he wasn't playing. And clap for baskets--from either team.

Next stop: Football game

Again they practiced for about 20 minutes and then played a game for 40 minutes. Jack's team is all kindergartners--mostly from St. Joseph.

Jack is number 11. He is one of the tallest kids on his team.

Catherine loves the girls. She is Sean's older sister and was in Jack's class last year. Such a sweet girl.

Thankful Plates

The girls made thankful' plates at preschool. I went to pick them up today at school with their plates and this is what they are thankful for in order of how I received them"

Anna: Cookies
Elizabeth: My toys

Another mom was laughing with me because her son was thankful for toast. Before we saw Kate's plate, she said to me, "You have to have at least one that says 'mom'."

Kate is my mama's girl!

I showed John the plates and he guessed each one correct on the first try!

 

Also, just a funny thing I have to add not about these plates at all. Today Elizabeth wanted to show me what was on her underwear.

"Mom, I have sleeping booty on my under-bunders."

Election

Jack woke up this morning singing a song about the election. Here are the lyrics:

After I asked him where he learned the song he told me he made it up on the bus yesterday. Well, that explains the silly lyrics! He called his grandmom and mimi to sing to them this song today.
