Last Day of School

We finished up school today! There are now three second graders and one fourth grader. We are more than ready for summer vacation!

End of the School Year

A few pictures of the girls' class at the end of the year and their report cards. Anna and Kate made huge growth in the last quarter of school.

Dedication

Anna was determined to finish her second marathon. We held running club a few extra days for her and a few others that were very close to reaching their goals. Today, Anna finished with 211 laps.

Softball Game with Friends

We watched some friends play in their softball game tonight. If the girls play softball next year, they will play machine pitch and so they were wanting to see how the games are played while watching their friends. These girls have already said they have space on their team for them next year.

Running Club

We are really proud of the kids this year and all the hard work they put in running club.We met on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 25 minutes before school during the year and let the kids run/walk 1/4 mile laps around the playground. We kept track of their miles and today we recognized the kids at the end of the year assembly.

The local running company donated running ear buds and Rush running jerseys. We were able to give the ear buds to those that reached a marathon (26.2 miles or 105 laps) and jerseys to those that reached two marathons (52.4 miles or 210 laps).

Top six finishers

Anna ran 48.75 miles (195 laps). She was very close to getting to the second marathon.

Kate had the second most miles with 65 miles and 260 laps

Elizabeth was 5th with 58.75 miles and 233 laps

Jack was the top finisher with over two and a half marathons. He ran 69.25 miles and 277 laps. He will get his name on a plaque as the top finisher for 2015-16.

Last Days of School

 Since we are traveling on Friday, I got end of the year pictures with the kids' teachers today.

Also, Jack performed a song on the piano for share your talent day. I video taped it, and I didn't get any pictures. He did a nice job. 

End of School

The kids have been wrapping up school. Over the weekend, the girls had two swimming birthday parties. Jack played in a tournament (pictures in another post). Walmart executives came to the school to teach Jr. Achievement. John was one of the volunteers and taught all day in Jack's third grade class. The kids had a lot of fun. This week, the kids had field day.
