Dr.'s Appointment

We went to see Dr. Kaczor today. Thankfully my mother-in-law was in town and able to come with me since the girls were getting shots. This was supposed to be their one month check up, but it was a little late since they were in the NICU for a few weeks. Since they are over 6 weeks old, we decided to give them some of their 2 month shots to split them up. So today they got their second Hep B shot, their first DTaP and first HIB. They will get two more shots and the oral rotovirus shot in a few weeks. The girls seem very sleepy as a result of these shots. Their stats are: Anna is 19 3/4", 5 lbs 7.5 oz and her head is 34 cm. Kate is 19 1/2", 4 lbs 13 oz and her head is 33 cm. Elizabeth is 18 1/2", 4 lbs 10 oz and her head is 34 cm. Since birth, they have grown 2 inches or more and gained over a pound--Elizabeth has gained a pound and a half! They are doing great otherwise too. They are starting to fill out in their cheeks and legs and I can tell they are getting longer because of the length of the preemie clothes. They are mostly wearing preemie clothing still, but I can put some newborn clothes on them that are big. They are eating great and are getting bottles of fortified breast milk about half of the time and nursing for the rest of the feedings. They are each eating 2.5 to 3 oz bottles now and they can really suck these down fast! Thursday is my actual due date and the date when we start from when we correct their ages for growth and development.

We are hoping to get them out to the pumpkin patch this year, maybe this weekend or next. The weather really changed fast this year. It seems like it has gone from summer to winter!
