We had a great Halloween! Jack and John carved a pumpkin, Jack and I made pumpkin cookies, Jack went trick-or-treating on Friday at preschool, we all went to the Halloween walk in La Grange on Halloween morning, trick-or-treating on Halloween afternoon, and then we had dinner at a friend's house on Halloween night. It was so nice to feel "normal" getting out and getting together with friends. It is hard to get all the girls ready to take out, but we had fun, and the girls were spoiled by being held all evening.
We wait until the last minute to carve the pumpkin because the squirrels eat them!

Icing the pumpkin cookies. Jack loves to help in the kitchen!

Eating his iced cookie

Happy boy with the finished product. We gave plates of these away to friends.

Waiting in line for the Halloween walk on Halloween morning. We walked along the streets of downtown La Grange and the businesses handed out candy to the kids. Jack loved getting the candy and this is the first year we didn't bring a stroller for him. He got tired towards the end and I ended up carrying him for the last few blocks. He kept asking "Are we going to get some more?" after each stop! We bundled the girls and took them out too for their first Halloween. Elizabeth cried through half the walk. I guess she realized she was missing out on the candy.
