Bentonville All Stars--American League

Jack made the all star team. Bentonville had two teams--National and American. The boys tried out from their regular league teams and 24 boys made it. Jack went from playing against these boys to learning to play with them. He played first base during the regular season. During all stars he was rotated from first, to pitcher to third to outfield. He learned a lot from his new coaches and loved playing on a team with some really good players. The boys practiced about two hours each night leading up to the first tournament (there are two).

They had their first tournament this past weekend in Springdale. They played a game Thursday and Friday night and one game Saturday. Bentonville lost all three games so we were seeded 6 out of 8 for today's final game. It was a very close game but they lost 5/4. The other team scored in the final inning! The boys finally looked like they were playing well together for the first time. Jack did great in the games. He hit 5 for 8 (one strike out and two outs at first) in the series. He was disappointed after the game today saying he really wanted to play in the State Tournament but it is the weekend of the 4th of July and we are out of town. I told him next year will won't plan vacation until end of July/beginning of August.

Pretty sure he is the cutest little ball player on the team
