These boys have improved a lot. They won their first game. They lost every other regular season game (tied two games 0/0). Tonight started the tournament.The boys played their first game and won 3/1. Jack hit twice and scored twice (second score was an inside the park home run--with two errors from overthrowing, ha!). Since they won, they played again--a much better team. It was a close game! Jack hit twice and scored once. Tonight in both games, he went 4 for 4 hitting and also made 3 outs at first (with runners at third each time and two outs in the inning). He is very proud and so are we. The Mets won the second game 2/1! They will play on Saturday in the semi-finals. It was fun to watch these boys play so well and win when they have had a tough season.
Jack won the MVP trophy for the end of the season. I told him it was the first trophy he has earned and he understands it is special. He told me he wanted to put it in a safe place so it won't break. And he didn't want his sisters holding it in case they drop it!
