First Quarter Grades and Report Cards

Wow, that quarter flew by! We had conferences this week. Jack is doing well. He made the High Honor Roll. He also finished his math facts for the year twice. He passed all 52 levels answering 40 questions correct in 2 minutes, and then in 1:30. Now he will work on other computer skills during technology with two other students that have also finished their math facts. He is learning email etiquette and will begin junior typing after that. He met four AR goals this quarter (one is required) and had 56.6 points earned from taking tests. Elizabeth was also on the High Honor Roll list. She finished her required 21 levels of addition and subtraction math fact levels (40 questions correct in 2:00) and moved on to multiplication and division and finished those as well up to level 46 (this is what the 3rd grade is expected to finish by the end of the year!). She self-taught herself multiplication and division. After she finished it at 2:00, she had her time reset to 1:30 and she passed all the levels again...not sure what they will do with her during technology the rest of the year! She made three AR goals and earned 32 points. She averaged reading her books at a 3.4 grade level. Kate made the Honor Roll. She also finished her 21 required levels of math facts and moved on to multiplication, which she finished and is getting ready to start division. She has come a long way from last year. Her reading and writing has improved so much. She made three AR goals, too. She had 22.4 points and averaged books at a 2.4 level. But it is Anna who gets the award for the most improved in school. Her reading level is above average, she made three AR goals (26.4 points averaging 2.6 grade level books). She also finished her math facts up to level 21 and moved on to multiplication and division. She has 4 levels to pass before she has finished what the 3rd grade should finish before the end of the year. She, like Elizabeth, picked up multiplication and division very quickly and with no help from me, or their teacher. We are very proud of how well they are all doing and extremely happy with their hard work, behavior and discipline they have.
