Trimming the Tree

Grandmom and Granddad both stayed for the week after Thanksgiving so they could watch the girls dance in the Nutcracker. Today, we decided to get out all the Christmas decorations. We bought a new tree last year and when we started to put it together, we realized really quick a ton of the bulbs were already burned out. Grandmom and John spend a ton of time testing bulbs and changing them (they think there were about 300 bulbs that needed to be replaced).

The tree is quite a bit bigger than our last one. When it came time to put the angel on top, John had a hard time getting Elizabeth high enough. The solution was for him to place the angel on top, then we took fake pictures with each kid pretending to put the angel on the tree. It was actually funny.

The Szczepanski family left this morning. The rest of us spent the day watching football, playing games and playing. Just an easy-going, peaceful day. It was a great weekend and we are so Thankful everyone made the trip to see us!

Christmas Pictures

Aunt Ryann took some pictures for Christmas. I love the one with Rocky!

Thanksgiving Weekend~Friday

Friday, we spent the morning relaxing. The girls made bracelets, the boys went swimming at the hotel pool. Aunt Ryann took some Christmas pictures of the Wakefield's and Scudders. Most of the girls wanted to ice skate, so we took them to the ice rink downtown Bentonville. They did pretty well and asked to come back another day. After ice skating, we met the boys at the Frank Lloyd Wright Bachman-Wilson house for a tour. That was really cool to look through. Then we headed to Fayetteville to eat pizza and then to the Stewart Family Christmas lights. It is basically a family in Fayetteville that goes all out with lights in their yard. There were over 250 inflatables and 35,000 lights, a train ride, hot coco, a real Santa...just really a cool place to visit.
