Golden Glove Showcase

Jack played in the coldest tournament ever this weekend. It was cloudy, windy (20 mph winds) and cold! Windchills on Saturday evening were in the 30s and on Sunday, they were in the 20s. We bundled up the boys with face covers, hot hands, extra layers (Jack had three layers on his legs and five on his top) and even put a heat lamp in the dugout for them to warm up in-between innings. The girls came Saturday and laid under three blankets during both games. They did not come Sunday though. I sent them with a friend and they took them to their birthday party. They were very glad to miss a game since they are carted to the ball parks so much to watch their brother play baseball. They started out Saturday really rough. They lost both games, getting behind early on and it was so hard for them to come back. Jack played first the entire tournament. He had two strike outs and two ground outs in both the games. On Sunday, they were seated 11/12 teams in tournament and beat the #7 seed, the Cardinals 10-1. Jack walked and struck out in that game. They then played another Express team, some boys they practice with each week, the #3 seed and beat them 10-2. Jack had a bunt (hit), RBI and walk in that game. They went on the semifinals and played the Yellow Jackets and lost a close game, just running out of time 8-7. Jack had one walk and one strike out. The Yellow Jackets needed up second in the tournament and Jack's team was third. Being so cold, it was huge for the boys to play that well in the bracket play. They don't usually win games on Sunday.

Here is a recap from GameChanger from the first game on Sunday
It was so cold!

Jack was tired Sunday evening. He came home, took a shower and rested on the couch.
