Winter Snowstorm

Since we are getting a major snow storm, we have been inside--and getting some cabin fever! I keep thinking about a time when the girls are older and able to play with each other and Jack. In the meantime, Jack and I have been playing a lot of card and board games, "cooking" Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner in Jack's play kitchen, checking out at the grocery store with the cash register, baking cookies and even jumping and running around! The girls are getting so strong! They are holding and playing with toys. They love interaction with us and each other. They love lights and music. They are still great at taking their bottles and sleeping through the night. We are working on naps in their cribs. I usually have to wake Kate from one of her naps each day (she has gone three hours), while Elizabeth is the first one up ALWAYS! She must have her internal clock set at thirty minutes--just like Jack did at her age. And, since I always get questions on their weights: Anna is now 9 lbs. 10 oz. Kate and Elizabeth are about the same weight. In the last week, Elizabeth outweighed Kate slightly, but today, they flip-flopped. Elizabeth was 8 lbs. 8 oz. and Kate was 8 lbs. 10 oz.

I thought this was a cute picture of Kate and Anna. I don't stage these photos, the girls seem to be realizing each other.
Jack is such a good helper! I find him comforting the girls in the mornings when I am getting everything organized. He will talk to whoever is fussy and bring them toys. Most of the time, it works too! The girls already adore their big brother.
All the sudden, he is so grown up!
When you have triplets, you end up with toys like this one in the house. Yikes!! The girls love it.

Weekend Pictures

I have been trying to keep up with the pictures, so I know I have been posting so many of them lately. But, it seems like the girls are changing so much! Even to me, and I see them all day, everyday.

This weekend, my nieces were a big help. They really love to help feed, hold and play with them. Thanks girls for all the help!

Carter was tired! Erin was holding Elizabeth and Margaret held Kate.
Elizabeth likes any sort of attention she can get.
Margaret and Kate. These two look a lot alike.
Kate likes to eat her fingers. ALL her fingers at once, that is.
Kate likes her hands on her head while sucking her pacifier.

Elizabeth will suck her thumb sometimes

Snow!

Today I took Jack and Nicholas outside to play in the snow. Everyone knows I am not a fan of the cold weather, but I was feeling slightly guilty that Jack, at age 3, has never really been outside long enough to need snow pants! I think I took him sledding once last winter on one of the coldest days of the year so it didn't last that long. Today, after bundling up the kids, we ventured out and had a blast. It was in the 30s today, so it wasn't too bad, and because I ended up pulling both boys in the sled up and down the yard, I wasn't cold at all. Jack LOVED the sledding. They also made snow angels and snow castles. Jack had to wear his smaller snow pants and we let Nicholas borrow his bigger ones. Jack's were slightly small and when he would fall down, he struggled to stand back up. I was laughing at him! When we came inside, the boys and I made snow ice cream. Sarah and Madeleine both looked at me like I was nuts when I asked them if they remembered how to make it, but the skeptics tried it when it was made and I think they thought it wasn't half bad. The boys had two bowls!

Jack in his snow bibs. He kept telling me he wasn't wearing a bib. Nicholas was giving Jack the bunny ears...isn't that what an older cousin does?

We don't have a ton of snow, but enough to pull the sled.

"Talking" and a Backpack

Jack received a new backpack yesterday from his Mimi and Papa. He was so excited! When the package came, he couldn't open it fast enough and once he saw what it was, he asked me to help him load it for school. He was too cute going to school today! Thanks Mimi and Papa! I also included a picture of Kate "talking" which she is doing so much these days! I guess she is learning she has to make some noise around here to get some attention! Elizabeth was our first talker, but the other two are now quickly speaking up.

He was actually saying "cheese" for this picture-haha!

Lips

Anna has started to pucker up her lips and blow raspberries! It is too cute, so I tried to capture it with a few pictures. Gotta love her lips!!

Neighborhood Playdate

Earlier this week, we hosted a playdate with a few neighbors on our block. Unfortunately, two of the families ended up not making it due to sick children. Oh well, we'll have to try again. We had fun anyway.

Here are the girls with our neighbor, Marty. He is a 2.5 months younger than the girls.

We think Anna has claimed him! (We did not stage this!)
