Meet Rocky

The trip to Nashville was planned to pick up a new puppy. We decided to call Carter's breeder and see if she had any puppies...and she did. We had four males to pick from and it was a bit of struggle to decided, they were all so cute! We finally decided on the black on with the brown and white face. We voted on his name. Jack came up with Rocky, John like Woodruff "Woody" and I liked Duke. After seeing the puppy and the fact he is from the "Rocky Top Tennessee" we decided to go with Rocky. He is a bit of a nervous puppy, very shy, but he is getting used to the new noises, smells and routines around our house. At the vet this week, he weighed 8.4 lbs. His birthday is May 8th, so he is about 4 months old.

Nashville and Vanderbilt

Over Labor Day weekend, we took a quick trip to Nashville. We left Friday evening and made it to Jackson, TN. Saturday morning, we drove to Nashville. We showed the kids the apartments and house we lived in and drove around those areas. Then, we checked into our hotel on Vanderbilt's campus and walked the campus. We ate at SATCO (which the kids loved) and walked to the Nursing building (it was locked) and into the medical library. We also went inside the hospital and the new children's hospital. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at the bookstore and the kids picked out a shirt. After getting smoothies, we went back to the hotel to get ready for church. After church, we drove downtown, to 17th ave, Music Row and then we ate at McNamara's Irish pub. It was very cool for us to see all these places again after 12 years.

Machine Pitch Softball

The girls had their first machine pitch softball game tonight and it was a double hitter. They lost their first game to a travel team 9-5 (Kate had two hits and one score, Anna had one hit and Elizabeth struck out). They won their second game, 6-0. Kate had one hit and Anna had a fielder's choice out off her hit. Elizabeth was very disappointed she did not hit tonight and has been in a little slump with her hitting. Hopefully she will hit one the next game. Their team is coached by a friend's dad and there are six girls in their class on the team which makes it really a fun time for them. They were exhausted, however, after having their first ballet class this afternoon, then heading to the ball park for two softball games. Good thing tomorrow is Friday!

Starting Ballet

First ballet class and there is a group of second grade girls from St. Vincent that all are in the same class. It makes for a fun class and great car pool (two cars drive each week). These girls all started RAD Primary I class today.
