CASM Gold/Silver Ring State Warm-up

The boys had some tough draws in the pool play this weekend. They started the day with the number one ranked team in the state and lost 12-0. That team ended up winning the tournament. Jack only had one at bat and grounded out. The second team they played were ranked 5th in the state and they ended up finishing second in the tournament. Jack had one at-bat, one hit, one stolen base and scored. He also pitched in that game too. They lost that game too, 9-4. In the bracket play, they played better, and were winning most of the game until the last inning when the other team scored some runs to tie up the game 8-8. They went into extra innings and ended up losing 8-9. Jack had one at-bat, one walk, one stolen base and one run in that game.

Let's Go Golfing Week One

The kids had their first golf match of the summer today at the First Tee. The girls played 6 holes this year instead of 3 and they finished up better than they started. They have not played much golf yet this summer and really struggle on the putting. Kate did well overall and finished 3rd in her age group out of about 25 kids. Elizabeth struggled on the first few holes but finished her last 3 very well. Anna was frustrated when she hit it into the hazard not once, but twice on the same hole. She is not a fan of a drop and extra stroke. She finished with a 49. Elizabeth had a 39 and Kate shot a 34. Next week we will try them with separate tee times since they seem to be so competitive with each other on every shot they take. I thought they would have matured little more from last summer, but I was wrong! Jack also played 6 holes, but the older kids played from the white tees. He finished first in the 9-11 year old age group with a 29.

Softball vs. Thundercats

The girls won their final regular season game tonight, 21-5. Anna had 3 at-bats, one run, two hits (one triple and one double), 2 RBIs, and one stolen base. She had one ground out. She played pitcher and made a few outs throwing to first. Kate had 4 at-bats with 3 hits, 3 runs, 4 RBIs, one double, and one stolen base. She played catcher. Elizabeth had 4 at-bats with 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 RBIs 1 double and 1 stolen base. She played short stop. They finished the season as city regular season champions with a record of 10-0. They are ready for the tournament next week! After the game, the girls all went to get ice cream.

NWA LPGA Tournament

I went to sign up the girls for some of the activities they do for the LPGA tournament and I found this cute picture on the website from last year! They are also in the magazine.

Softball vs. Dirt Diamonds

The girl won last night 15-3 after 3 innings. Elizabeth had 3 at-bats, 3 hits and 3 RBIs playing short stop. Kate had 3 at-bats, 3 hits and 1 RBI playing catcher. Anna had 2 at-bats, 1 hit and 1 ground out at first and 1 run. They will finish up their regular season tomorrow.
