Turkeys and Indians

Today, I went to Jack's classroom for his Thanksgiving feast. And when I say feast, it really was a feast! Complete with turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, popcorn, muffins, cookies steamed carrots, spinach stuffing (? not sure what that mother was thinking...it looked delicious, but NONE of the kindergartners ate it--including Jack), applesauce, apple juice, pumpkin and apple pie. Their party was at 10 O'clock in the morning and they had lunch shortly after! I am not sure if the kids ate much for lunch. All the kindergartners were dressed in Indian attire they made. It was really cute to see. I was happy to be able to come into his classroom and help. St. Joseph does not allow [many] parents to help out in the classroom. The teachers like to keep it simple. Jack was very excited to see me!

I also had conferences with his teacher tonight that went well. Jack will start the programs, First in Math and the accelerated reader that are usually started in first grade. He is doing very well. The girls made the cutest hats at school today, I had to get a few pictures of them. And I took a picture of their turkeys they painted at school.

All kids are done with school and other activities as of 12:45 today for the rest of the week. It will be a nice Thanksgiving break!

I could only take one picture with my phone today before the battery died. I really need a new phone!

This one is Kate's.

GOAL!

Jack scored a touchdown today which helped tie the game. He was so excited, he kept telling people he "won a touchdown." He also made two baskets (in the warm-up), but he likes to tell anyone who listens that he made four points at his basketball game!

Decorating the Tree

OK, I know...I like to have the tree up before we travel for Thanksgiving break so we can come home and enjoy it. The girls actually helped this year and we only broke one ornament. They put all the ornaments on one branch!

I got my haircut this afternoon and while I was gone, I had our favorite babysitter give the girls a bath. I had pulled out these shirts a friend made for us to wear. When I came home, she told me they wanted to wear "pitty skirts" and "leg warmers," and when she gave them their brown shoes, they told her they didn't match. Then, they went to the garage to find their red shoes! Wow! I might have created little monsters!

While waiting for Jack to get home from school, I tried to get a few pictures of the girls.

A few pictures with Jack

Time to decorate! I handed the girls non-breakable ornaments one-at-a-time. Jack had fun putting the breakable ones as high as he could!

First ornament on the tree.

Elizabeth's and Kate's branches with all their ornaments! They were not too happy when I had to redistribute them!

Our Nativity is on our mantel. I think by next year, I can put it out under our tree. This year we have the little people Nativity set. I also need to get a star or angel. The star we have is too big/heavy.

All I Want for Christmas is my two BOTTOM teeth?!?!

Jack lost his second tooth tonight. Actually, my neighbor likes to wiggle and pull teeth...so we let her. Jack is one tough boy. At first she thought it would be a few days before it would come out, but he kept letting her wiggle and wiggle and a little bit of blood didn't scare him. So, it came out. He has picture retakes tomorrow so he will be missing his bottom teeth--how cute! Except, the adult teeth are half in as you can see from this picture!

The actual picture in the newspaper

They are right in the middle of all the pictues above. To the right is the front of the newspaper.

Caption says, "Three little ladies"

A picture from dance class dress up today.

Zoo Day

We went to the zoo as a family today, which we hardly ever do. It was very crowded. I guess a few other people in Cleveland thought it would be a good zoo day too--being that it was in the 70s.
