Two Month Check-Up (A Few Weeks Late)

The girls had their two month check up today. They are actually two and a half months old, but their check ups were off because they were in the NICU. Since they were late on their one month check up, they were able to get some of their shots then, so today they only needed two shots--the IPV and Prevnar-- and the oral rotavirus. Thankfully we schedule the appointments for Tuesdays because we have a friend who is a nurse that works at the doctor's office on Tuesdays so she is able to give them their shots. It is hard when they get shots because we can only hold them for a short time before we have to put them down so the next one can get her shots. They end up crying in their car seats. So sad! They don't seem to be too bothered from them, however, they are extra sleepy.

The girls are growing well and the doctor is pleased. Anna is now 6 lbs. 9.5 oz., 20.75" long and her head is 35.5cm. Kate is 5 lbs. 13.5 oz., 20.75" long and her head is 34.5cm. Elizabeth is 5 lbs. 11 oz., 19,5" and her head is 35.5cm. They are fitting into their newborn clothes fairly well, although they are slightly long on Elizabeth. We decided to start Kate on Zantac because she is spitting up quite frequently and seems bothered by it. She is my good baby and lately she has been fussy, even during her feedings. We hope this will work and should know in a week. The next visit will be right before Christmas when they will be four months old.

Other news in our household: We are phasing Jack out of his naps. He has been getting up quite early--5-5:30am. We try to tell him to wait in his room until it is light outside, but this doesn't work now with the time change! Plus, we were putting him to bed at night and he would be awake for a while before falling asleep. His two-to-two and a half hour naps were nice for us during the day, but we think sleeping past 5:30a would be great too. Yesterday was his first day without a nap and we could tell by 6pm. He was fussy just like the girls are during this time! He did manage to sleep in today until 6:15am. We hope to stretch this until 7am. This is a process.
