First Communion for the Girls

Grandmom, Granddad, Aunt Sue Sue, Mimi, Aunt Mary, Sarah, Claire and Amy all drove in for the girls' First Communion. Grandmom and Granddad arrived on Thursday in time for a quick visit to BFF, then Grandmom and the girls made their cake together. The kids did not go to school on Friday, and when the Fraziers, Mimi and Mary arrived, we went back downtown to the BFF for lunch and then the girls got their nails done with the Frazier girls. Friday night Jack had two baseball games in Fayetteville and the girls had a softball game. Saturday morning started bright and early with hair appointments at 11, followed by pictures at the church, then their Communion mass at 4:00pm. Because we scheduled pictures at the church, they were the first ones to arrive to the church and therefore were able to carry up the gifts. After getting pictures with Monsignor after mass, we went to Shogun's for dinner. The girls picked this restaurant. They love the chefs. Then, we headed home for cake, chocolate pie and cookie cake. They kids played ghost in the graveyard before bed.

It was a fun, but busy day. The girls were very excited to receive the body and blood of Christ. They were not big fans of the wine, however, were all smiles before, during and after the mass.
