Running Club Award Assembly

I co-chaired the running club this year again with the help from a good friend, Lesley. We met every Tuesday and Thursday during the school year at 7:10am to 7:40 except when it was raining or under 32* and didn't start until October when it cooled down some. We had 25 kids run/walk at least a marathon (26.2 miles) and 10 kids run/walk at least two marathons (52.4 miles). We gave all the kids certificates with their yearly total mileage and announced the them at an assembly today. Jack was the total mileage winner with 105.5 miles (4 marathons). He averaged 2.5-3 miles every time we met for running club. Kate was second with 90.75 miles and Elizabeth was third with 87 miles. Anna was eighth was 68.75 miles. Jack got his name on the Golden Shoe Trophy again this year as the top runner. He broke his record last year of 69.25 miles. All the kids that reached a marathon got a free movie pass and a free Sonic drink, too. It was a fun year and we are so proud of all their hard work this year!
