Jack's team had some scrimmages in Missouri this weekend. He played two games on Saturday and one on Sunday. They played against 11U teams. Our boys are 9 and 10 years old. Our boys had to adjust their pitches since the mound was an additional four feet out from home plate. The first game on Saturday, the played really well and won the game 10-9. Jack had two walks and was hit by a pitch. He scored two runs. He played first and caught one inning. He came in the last inning to pitch and the score was 10-8. He walked one batter that came around an scored on a wild pitch. He had one pop up that was not a good throw to first so the batter was safe. That batter stole second and third. Then, there was a pop up that was caught. So with one out and the tying run on third, Jack struck out the next batter and picked off the runner on third to end the game! It was a crazy finish and exciting for the boys to win against an 11U team. The second game was a completely different story, however, and the team hammered ours, 18-3. Jack had one strike out and one walk in that game.
Sunday's game was the same team we played first on Saturday. They ended up beating us 13-5 today. Our boys struggled with pitching and walked a lot of batters. Jack walked once and scored and had two great hits to the outfield that were great catches by the other team.
