Witch's Hats!

Jack had a day off school today for teacher's conferences. Jack and I enjoyed an afternoon of making Halloween cookies. These were supposed to be witch's hats. They didn't turn out the best, but it was a lot of fun. His conferences went well. His teacher Mrs. Herrold told us she will miss Jack in the classroom, and so will a lot of the boys, she thought. He has a lot of friends! She told us a few of the teachers in the building have come up to her and remarked about how funny he is and his cute personality--a little man--is what they call him. When I drop him off in the mornings, he is talking to whomever is next to him. At first I wondered who these kids were and if he knew them, but each day he is striking up a conservation with anyone and everyone walking in the building. Last week one day, I swear it was a 7th or 8th graders. Reminds me of myself...or John...no way. Not sure where his lack of shyness came from! He is also doing great in the class and Mrs. Herrold told us she forgets he is just 4 years old! He got all 'M's on his report card (meets expectations) except in handwriting (S--still developing). His handwriting has come a long way since the beginning of the school year, though. Always good to hear nice things about your child. He gets to be VIP next week in his classroom, which is usually during a birthday week, but Mrs. Herrold wanted him to be able to experience this week before we move.
