Cherrios, ABC Bear & Headstands

The girls have recently started to eat cherrios. When I put a bowl of these down, they attack it! I took a few pictures of them eating them. Since this picture, they have learned how to eat them out of a snack trap which has decreased the amount of cherrios they are eating from the ground. A little dirt won't hurt too much, right?

I love this picture of Kate
They empty out the cabinets
At one point, Elizabeth was afraid of this bear that sings the ABCs, but now she and the other two love him!
Kate's headstand. She is learning how to do it one handed. And, today, I saw Anna and Elizabeth both do headstands!

Triplettree Playgroup

Today was a fun day. We went to a playgroup with some other mothers and their triplets. There were six moms, so there were six sets of triplets ranging in age from 4 to 8 months. Counting the siblings, there was a total 24 kids. Two of the families had a set of twins and a set of triplets! The hosting family has 25 month twin boys (non-identical) and IDENTICAL triplet girls that were 8 months old! She really is one lucky woman!  And I thought I went through a lot of diapers a day! I'm thinking she should buy a few lottery tickets. Another mother has 2 year old triplet boys and she told me she has a sister with triplet boys that were 7 years old. So...two sisters...two pregnancies...six boys...Wow, you would think that at least they would of ended up with one girl between the two families!  When I said what are the odds, she said we stopped talking about odds a long time ago. At least she is getting all the hand-me-downs!

When we walked in, there were babies, kids, toys, books, highchairs and noise everywhere! It was nice for Jack to run around and the girls had fun crawling around. The older kids helped out with all the babies. It was nice to connect with other moms of triplets and talk with them about issues. And it was also nice to make new friends! We hope to make more of these playgroups in the future.

Thompson Family Reunion

We have the best family! Today was the Thompson family reunion. We have this reunion every five years. What is so neat is the amount of people that have come from one married couple. So, if I get  this straight, it would be my grandmother's grandmother and grandfather, so, my great-great-grandparents (I am the 5th generation and my children are the 6th generation). I always find family histories so interesting. While I was talking with my grandmother today (which, her family line was wearing blue--the largest amount of people there because she had nine brothers and sisters), I realized how lucky I am am to have such a great family--no seriously. We are a one-of-a-kind-family. My grandparents have been married for 63  years, raised 12 children, have 62 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren with 7 more great grandchildren to be born this year! Can you imagine? Really amazing in my mind! I love any excuse to get our huge family together since so many of my little cousins are getting married and moving around the country, I don't see them, or all their new babies much at all, other than Christmas.

It was a beautiful day. Jack was playing with some of his cousins and second cousins. Notice all the blue?

Second cousins, James and Richie and first cousins, Braden, Abby and Jack
These two crack me up. Abby is exactly a year older than Jack, but you wouldn't know it by looking at them!
My brother Neil and his two mini-me boys, Thomas and birthday boy Kevin.
My mom holding Elizabeth
My niece Ambria holding Kate is getting in some good practice for her new sister or brother due to be born around Christmas. My mom and I hold Anna and Elizabeth.
We always take a group picture. I only got the section where we were sitting. You can see Jack to the far left of the picture and the girls sitting next to him. My grandparents are standing on the far right of the picture. I wish I would of stepped back, but I had to hurry. The lady who took the picture was standing on top of the playground about thirty yards away.

Kevin's Party; Anna's Tooth

A quick trip to Indiana for the weekend. It seems like we have been on the go all summer. It is making the summer fly by! Today we went to our nephew's third birthday party. It was such a HOT day, but a good time was had by all. I only got a few pictures and some of them are blurry. I only had my point-and-shoot camera and the quality isn't that great.

Anna and Elizabeth pull to a stand now. I like this picture because this is classic Elizabeth moving a sister out of her way, like she is saying, "No Kate, my hand is going there."
Kate's smile
Elizabeth was so happy!

Oh, and Anna sprouted a little tooth. Her right lower central incisor can now be felt, but not really seen yet. My mom found it today! So, that leaves only the baby of the family--my Kate--toothless.

I can't believe next month the girls will turn one! It is crazy to think how fast this year has gone! Today, they are officially eleven months old. Here are a few pictures.

College Kids

Today, my good friend from college came to visit us with her three kids. It was great to see her and let the kids play together. We will have to make the next trip north to visit them!

Standing

Pulling Up

We had cousins visit us this weekend. It was a nice break for us! They take turns spending the night with us and are so helpful in the mornings. John told me today all we needed was to have two more older girls in the morning and we would be all set!

This weekend, Elizabeth pulled to a stand and Anna did too. Anna also managed to climb up a small step and sit under our end table.

I thought this picture was cute of the kids.

Elizabeth pulls herself up to standing by herself
Anna hoping to reach her bottles on the top shelf. I have to tuck their dresses into their bloomers for two reasons: 1. To keep them from falling off. 2. So they are able to crawl without their legs getting caught in their dresses

Vacation Bible School

Jack had his first week of vacation bible school. It was a great program and it was especially nice that Madeleine was his teacher and her husband Josh ran the program! Jack felt right at home with them and came home this week singing songs and with all kinds of art projects. He can't wait to do it again next year! Today was his last day and all the parents were invited to attend a little presentation in the church and lunch afterwards.

When I walked in, Jack was sitting next to the other preschool teacher instead standing with the rest of the kids, but he was singing the songs and doing the arm motions. He is in a white shirt to the far left of the picture sitting next to a girl wearing a yellow shirt.
When he saw me, he went up and stood next to his classmates. But he ran back and forth to me and the front a few more times during the show.
Singing in the white shirt, left side of the picture.
Madeleine and Josh helped me hold Kate and Elizabeth. All three girls danced to the music, especially Kate!

Solo Trip to the Brookfield Zoo

There is a first time for everything. Today after I dropped Jack off at his last day of Bible School, I took the girls to the zoo. I had about two hours before I had to pick him up and since we were within a few miles from the zoo, I planned to take them there by myself. It was a hot day! I'm not sure what the girls saw, but it was nice to get out with them. I always feel good knowing that I do things like this.

John and I are both starting to think that Elizabeth and Anna are starting to look more alike.

Splash Park

On Wednesday, we went to a splash park near our house with the Scudder kids and PeePaw. The older girls were so good with the babies. I couldn't go without their help! Elizabeth loved the water, of course and the other two were hesitant at first, but warmed up to the water after a while.
