Easter Weekend: Saturday

Today we rushed out of the house to make Jack's tee ball game at 9 am only to get half-way to the ball diamond and receive a message that his game was cancelled because of the condition of the fields (wet because of the rains we have had over the last week). Such a bummer that the girls were loaded in the van and ready to watch their big brother in action for the first time! Today turned into a beautiful day so when we got home, we let the kids play outside. John did some garage cleaning and the girls did better staying on the driveway. They liked to push little cars around, ride in the jeep with Jack (he put his arm around each of them while they were sitting next to him in the front seat so they wouldn't fall out and they loved it!), walk around the back path of the house to the golf course (Kate picked up a few rocks and ate them along the way) and walk up the front walkway and climb the stair to the front door. Kate and Elizabeth loved throwing balls too. After about an hour of playing, we had some reinforcements come to help us watch the girls, i.e. the Frazier girls. It works out nicely because there are three Frazier girls and three Scudder toddlers. After a while everyone came in for lunch. The girls took a nap and Jack colored Easter eggs with the Sarah, Claire and Amy. I guess he will have to get used to coloring eggs with three girls :)

In the evening, we had Mimi and Papa, Uncle John and Aunt Mary along with the Fraziers over for a cookout. John fired up the grill for the first time since we moved and I made two apple pies. The girls once again played outside before dinner and actually ate their dinner outside. Nice for me since I only had to scrub the kitchen floor twice today!

Elizabeth thinks she can run down the street without getting caught! Too bad Sarah is just as fast.
