Mickey's House: Jack's Money Well Spent!

Since January, Jack has been earning check marks for good behavior and extra jobs. He could earn one check mark for making his bed without being told (if he didn't, he still had to make his bed once we told him to), keeping his pull-up dry at night (John's idea--Jack really can't control this but oddly enough, he stopped wetting the bed in the last month), sleeping in his bed all night (we have problems with him coming to our bed after midnight) and then he earned them for cleaning up the basement, putting toys away or general help to me. Each check mark was worth a quarter. Jack earned $25 to spend at Disney. We took him to find pirate stuff. He loves the show, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so that is where we went to spend his money. He found a sword, spyglass and Captain Hook's hook at the Magic Kingdom. I was glad because everyday, I cut out swords from ones he drew on paper, tape rolls of paper together to make spyglasses and find hangers all over the house that he uses for Captain Hook's hook. The next day at downtown Disney, we found a Mickey Mouse hat with a pirate bandanna and earring. This would do for his pirate hat! The shirt he picked out (We bought his shirt and Mickey Mouse stuffed animal because we bought the girls a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal and tank top) was a Pirate Mickey and the stuffed animal he picked out was a pirate Mickey, too. I guess you could say he likes his pirates! I am glad that he was able to "earn" his own money to spend there. He loved getting his change back (he ended up with a little over $1 left) and picking out his own things. He asked me later if he could continue to earn check marks to earn money for next year's trip to Disney...we will have to at some point tell him we are not going back to Disney next year, but for now, we will continue to let him earn money to spend.

Mimi bought Jack a second sword at Sea World which is the one he is holding in this picture with his spyglass, Captain Hook's hook and pirate Mickey
