Chicago Trip: Monday and Tuesday

The kids and I packed up the car on Monday to spend a few days in Chicago with family and friends. Once we made it there--and what was I thinking taking my four kids on a six hour car trip by myself--two year olds--potty--oh well, I made it the Scudders and it actually wasn't that bad.

Monday night, we took a stroll down our old street and saw our old neighbors. It is always nice to see them! Also, odd, since because all the kids have grown up so much!

On Tuesday, Jack had an eye appointment with his old opthalmologist. After the appointment, we took the kids to Edgewood pool. The girls all swam in the baby pool and Jack jumped off the low diving board, without a life jacket! He was so proud jumping and "swimming" to the edge in the deep water. After the pool, we visited more neighbors and our wonderful friends who were so helpful the girls' first year. The Beck's came once a week for an entire year--with meals to help take care of the babies. We all just loved Mrs. Beck and her daughter, Mary Rose. When we got to their house, Mary had picked out gifts for the girls--two barbies each! And they never leave out Jack. He got a few matchbox cars and batman figures. So nice. They also fed us ice cream sundaes! The girls had such a great time jumping on their trampoline and playing on their swing set.

Getting ready to jump!

Jack after he jumped off the diving board. I couldn't get him mid-jump with my slow phone.

Here are some picture of Marty and his brothers--our old neighbors when we lived here.

Last playdate--days before we moved. Can't believe how small the girls were!
