Apples!

Mimi and Aunt Mary came to visit us. The kids get so excited. When I told them this morning, they all gave me big smiles and Jack ran to the phone to call Mimi to see if she was on her way. They could hardly contain their excitement for a few hours, but did!

Later in the afternoon, we went to pick apples. We usually go mid-September, but we have been told that the apple picking season is very short this year and most places are not doing the U-pick because of the very warm month of March and then having a normal April. The apples trees bloomed in March way too early and could not stand the cold temperatures in April. However, we were able to find one place that had two types of apples to pick. They only had probably ten apple trees to pick from, but it was perfect for us. One of the types was Gala which is very good. The girls had fun this year actually picking apples. In years past, they were confined to the stroller. We have enjoyed this tradition every year since Jack was nine months old.

They gave us bags for the girls to hold and they picked some apples, and ate some. When I went to empty the apples from their little bags into our large bag, I found Kate's bag with probably five apples all with one bite out of them! Anna didn't eat any apples for a little while. I guess she wanted to fill up her bag first.

Jack is an old pro!

Playing with Aunt Mary and Mimi. The girls loved their new barbie purses with cell phones, cameras, sunglasses and drivers licenses. Jack loves his new wallet and watch!
