Big Girls

The girls decided to try to ride without their training wheels. Anna and Kate were very excited. Elizabeth was iffy, but willing to give it a try. Aunt Sarah held on to Anna about halfway across the yard, and then she took off. She rode in the grass a few times and then was off on the sidewalk. By the end of the afternoon, she was starting and stopping by herself and riding like an old pro. Kate tried after Anna and she did just as well. After letting go halfway across the yard, she, too took off. She was starting and stopping by the end of the afternoon, too. Elizabeth gave it a try. She was not ready at all. But she is okay this this and was not at all sad she couldn't ride without training wheels. She likes her training wheels. She is definitely more timid on the bike and took long to ride with the training wheels than the other two. She also it quick to get off her bike and walk it down a hill.

I was amazed at how quickly they picked this up. Considering they just started riding a two-wheel bike with training wheels in January and at their young age, it was impressive. Both girls were out the next morning at 7:30 in the morning riding their bikes again. They love it! Mimi pointed out that our preemie "babies" have caught up, indeed!
