Jack's Four Year Check-Up

Today, Jack saw Dr. Jim for his four year check-up. He asked Dr. Jim a few (hundred) questions, but there were no tears. My little guy is growing up for sure! He has grown 4 inches in the last year and gained 4 lbs. He is 40 lbs (80th percentile) and 40.25 inches tall (65th percentile). I told him he would not be getting any shots, however, he needed one booster--the new Prevnar 13! Once Dr. Jim was finished looking him over (and giving him a clean bill of health), the nurse came in with the shot. Jack looked right at her giving him the shot and there were NO tears! Wow--what a tough guy!

Aside from his stats, at age four, Jack is becoming such an independent man. He likes to dress himself, draw and color, write his name and letters, play games and also play with dolls. He loves to put things in bags and organizing things. He loves the Charlie Brown Holiday specials, Polar Express, Leap Frog Letter Factory, Math Circus, Complex Word Factory and Storybook Factory. He also has been watching Leave It To Beaver reruns and Flintstones episodes. He is not a fan of playing outside in the snow, but loves it outside in the warm weather. He goes to preschool three days a week, zips his coat and buckles his seat belt. He likes to "play" with his sisters and he will talk to them like they are his age--"Anna, look over here"  and "Kate, do you want this one instead." He also likes to boss them around a little. Dr. Jim commented that he was a smart little guy and we have realized this for a while. He memorizes things rather quickly and retains everything we tell him. He is very personable and outgoing (not sure where he is getting this?) and is not shy at all. He will very often say hi to random people in the grocery store and strike up a conservation with anyone and everyone. He makes most people smile, including us. We love you Jack!
