Jack is Five!

Jack turned five today. He is such a blessing to us. He makes us laugh daily with his stories. He is funny and very outgoing. It is not uncommon for him to get up before we do each day, climb into our bed and begin to talk...and talk...and talk. He likes to imitate his dad. He takes a shower pretty much every morning and sometimes he climbs into the bath with the girls in the evenings. He carefully combs his hair, puts a little mousse and hair spray, gets dressed complete with tucking in his shirt and putting on his belt. Kindergarten is going very well for Jack. He is beginning to read. His handwriting has improved a ton since the beginning of the year and his coloring too. He does not like to color, but likes any sort of craft (think glue, scissors) and writing letters. John and I will find little letters by our beds once a week. He also will send letters to family members in the mail. He is helpful with his sisters and sometimes I think I rely on him too much to help me out, but he is usually very good. He loves to play with them and the afternoons during their nap he is constantly asking me when they will get up. At the first sound, he is upstairs lifting them out of their cribs. He loves to play with other kids too, and age/gender doesn't seem to matter. He has a memory like his dad. Each day we are amazed at what small details he brings up in conservations. He loves to hear stories about himself when he was a baby. We love watching him grow up, and are enjoying him each and every day, but it feels like it is going by so fast! Happy 5th Birthday Jack! We love you always.

Today we went to the library and picked out some books on CD, then we went to Diary Queen for lunch. Jack picked Chick-Fil-A for dinner (there is playground there) and we all met Dad there. The kids enjoy chicken and french fries and the love the playground. It is very hard to get them to leave! We came home and Jack wanted to open his gifts first. We then sang to him and had a cupcake. He loves his LeapPad. He calls it a DS!

There are 5 lighted candles on here, just hard to see them.
