More Mimi and Aunt Mary

Whew! We did a lot during this visit! All the fireplaces were sprayed black (no more gold!) and all the hinges were switched from gold to oil rubbed bronze thanks to Mary and her drill! We also got the pool closed up for the winter, had the two bathrooms painted and managed to eat lunch with the kids on Friday afternoon--we ate the school lunch right with them. Square pizza--brings back lovely memories! Since the work was finished by Friday night, we went to the square Friday night for some ice cream at the Spark Cafe. Saturday was rainy, so after a trip to Wal-Mart for some special prizes for the kids (Thanks Mimi and Aunt Mary), we played for a while at McDonalds and then watched Home Alone, went to church and watched Home Alone 2. Jack picked out these movies earlier in the day and he loved them! He was laughing so hard! Anna was afraid of them, Kate and Elizabeth were mixed. It was a nice week. The kids always have a blast with their Mimi and Aunt "Mar" as they call her! It was nice to have some company to break up the two weeks John has been in Asia. John is going to be surprised when he gets home to see all the work that has been done around here!

Friday evening on the Square

These girls are strange sometimes. Following the leader, I guess!

All the door handles were switched by Jack and me. All the hinges were switched by Aunt Mary and her drill! She was a machine with the spray paint, too!

We switched the gold handles for new oil rubbed bronze.

Centerpiece was made by my mom.
Aunt Mary sprayed all the fireplaces black. Here is a before and after of the office fireplace. The first picture was taken at night which is why the color of the fireplace is different.

After picture of the family fireplace. No more gold!

After picture of the kitchen fireplace.

My mom sent this pot/vase which matches our new comforter set nicely. Looks great in our room!
