Jack Turns Seven!

Today Jack turned Seven. It is hard for me to believe he is that old! He woke up early this morning and was ready to open his gifts before we left for the big ride back to Indiana for Christmas. Can you tell which gift he got from his Mom and which gift was his dad's idea?

At seven years Jack, you are in first grade and doing very well in school. First and second quarter you earned As in all your classes and S+ in all your specials. You love math and numbers and are a really good reader. You have finished all the Magic Tree House books from 1-48 and have started the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series (finished book one). You will also read most anything else, too. In school, you are part of the Accelerated Reader program and have received awards for reaching milestones (currently on 5th goal) that few in the entire school have reached.

You like sports. All sports. You like to play them and watch them on TV. Right now you are playing basketball in two separate leagues. When we ask you about your favorite sport, it changes per season. You loved watching the World Series in the fall when the Red Sox won, and now you are really liking football games. Playing football in the front yard with the neighbors is almost a daily occurrence.

You have a sweet side to you. You love your sisters. You have whispered this to me, so I know this is true. Plus, I have seen you interact with them at school and I can tell you will be a protective big brother to them, especially as they get older. They adore their older brother, "Jackie." You also still love your Bella bears and sleep with them every night. You make us laugh with some of your questions and statements. Example: You told me the other night you thought Heaven was 4,000KM from the earth. You don't require too much sleep and are usually up between 5-6 AM. You will frequently come to our bed in the middle of the night to sleep with us.

Monopoly and Yahtzee are your favorite games right now. You and daddy play Monopoly quite a bit. Sometimes you win, sometimes he wins.

You are 49.5 inches tall (75th percentile) and 50.2 pounds (45th percentile).

It is amazing to watch you grow up and learn new things everyday. We are so blessed to have you as our oldest child. We love you very much!

Happy 7th birthday Jack!

love,
mom and dad
