Disney~ Thursday February 25th ANIMAL KINGDOM

We got to the Animal Kingdom just after 9 in the morning and headed to our first fast pass which was the Festival of the Lion King. This show as probably my favorite of all the shows the entire week. There were monkey acrobats that swung giants and flipped on the trampoline, music, dancing, a man with fire baton (and he ate some of the fire) and a ballet dancer that was suspended from the ceiling during her part of the show. Near the end of it, they pulled a few kids from the audience and the girls were selected. They got to shake, dance and sing around the stage. It was pretty neat.

After the show, we got a quick snack and then headed to our next fast pass, the Kilimanjaro safari ride. We got on a truck and drove though the African Safari and saw quite a few animals. Jack loved it and kept having me take pictures of them. After the ride, the wait for the Expedition Everest was not too long and since the kids have been loving the roller coasters all week, we decided to try it. It was about a 30 minute wait. The roller coaster was good, it went backward, forward, up and of course down. It was then time for our lunch reservations at Tusker House restaurant at 1:10. We met Mickey, Goofy, Daisy and Donald during lunch. After lunch, we headed to use our fast pass on Expedition Everest. After the roller coaster, we watched the Finding Nemo show which was really good. Then Jack and John went to try the Primeval Whirl which the girls were too short for while the girls, Mimi  and I watched "It's tough to be a bug" show under the Tree of Life. This show was so cute! It was in 3D and the bugs flew out at us, sent mist on us and the stink bug even sent his stink our way! At the end of the show, they announced for us to stay seated while the spiders and other bugs exited the building first and we could then at that moment feel something moving from under our seats like bugs crawling! After the show, we found John and Jack and watched it again with them. It was an early night because the Animal Kingdom closes at 5:30, so we headed back to the hotel where the kids wanted to swim (even though it was only mid 60s). So they did, then we grabbed a quick dinner at the hotel and headed for bed, once again, exhausted!

Jack used his Disney money from Mimi to buy a new hat, a deck of cards (so we could play euchre in the hotel room) and a Pluto pillow pet.
