A Baby Shower

On Sunday, the girls and I ventured out for my cousin's baby shower. She is expecting her first baby--a boy-- in six weeks and looks great! It was great to see many of my cousins again and the girls enjoyed their first (of many) baby showers (remember in the last post I said I have over 60 first cousins). Plus, they looked cute in little dresses and tights!

Abby was so excited to play and feed the triplets
Abby couldn't stop hugging Elizabeth. I think she gave her about ten hugs!

My mother with all her granddaughters. In order from oldest to youngest: Ambria, Emily, Abby, Maria, Marie, Anna, Elizabeth and Kate. Not a bad picture considering five of the eight are under nine months old!

Saint's Alive!

We attended Saints Alive--our high school's annual auction to raise money for financial aid for the student body. John and I both attended Bishop Dwenger High School and worked at previous Saint Alive events, but had never been a guest for the dinner and auction. Driving to Dwenger, we commented on how 'old' we are--graduating from this high school 14 years ago! It was fun to see a few of the same faces--Mr. Tone our old principal, our Athletic director and one of our our old teachers-- Doc Shorter--our Latin teacher. There are some that say we fell in love in Latin class! At any rate, it was fun to be back and walk the halls again, it makes us young! The theme this year was The Golden Age of Bruges.

In our old high school gym
So many decorations are put up. We used to get two days off from school for the event.
The beautiful Szczepanski sisters--Sarah, Laura & Julie
We love our sister-in-law,  Ryan
My siblings and spouses
Julie, Sarah and I stand with my grandmother--the namesake to our youngest daughter
I look up to my grandparents. In May, they will have been married for 63 years! They have 12 children, over 60 grandchildren and over 30 great grandchildren. They are two of the most beautiful people I know.

Two more of the most beautiful people I know--my parents.

Neil and Jeremy--probably deciding on what to bid on
My mom claimed we could eat the flowers on our plates...so we all gave her our flowers when she got up and left the table for a second (I'm not sure she ate them, though)
Jeremy was gone when dinner was served...so as a joke, we gave him all our left-overs. I think he ended up with four steaks, three breasts of chicken and a few bundles of asparagus. His face was priceless!

A Busy Saturday in Indiana

We spent the weekend in Indiana visiting family and attending our old high school's annual auction. On Saturday morning, we were able to see Aunt Susie and her girls as well as Aunt Mary and Uncle John. The bigger girls just love ALL the Scudder kids.

Ice in the Mesh

I put ice in the food mesh today so the girls could learn how to hold it and bring it to their mouths. They are really starting to hold toys and bring them to their mouths, especially Elizabeth. I thought this would be a good introduction to the meshes before I start to put food in them. Elizabeth loved it! In fact, the picture I got of her isn't that great, my camera's memory card was full, so I couldn't get another one. She was able to hold it and bring it to her mouth by herself. She ate from it until the ice cube was almost gone. Kate didn't seem to care about the mesh. She was ok eating from it as long as I held it, but didn't want to bring it to her mouth by  herself...to much work, I guess. Anna did not like the ice at all. She gave me a look like, "What is this...I don't think so." She actually would fuss when I put it in her mouth! Food should be interesting! Jack finished off the ice cubes from Kate and Anna.

And, We are on the Charts!

The girls were seen at the doctor's office today. Except for their colds, they checked out great. The best part of the check up was their heights and head circumferences are now on the charts! Not the preemie charts, either!

Anna:
Weight: 10 lbs. 2 oz.
Height: 24.5 inches (9th percentile!!)
Head: 40 cm (3rd percentile!)

Kate:
Weight: 9lbs 3 oz.
Height: 24 inches (3rd percentile!!)
Head: 40 cm (3rd percentile!)

Elizabeth:
Weight: 9lbs. 3.5 oz.
Height: 24 inches (3rd percentile!)
Head: 40.5 cm (5th percentile!)
We cracked up that she has the biggest head ;)
She and Kate are so similar in measurements.

Since Elizabeth is in the middle of her cold, she did not get shots, but the other two did better with them this time around (Thank goodness).

Six

Six months! Where does the time go? I did the best I could with these pictures today. We have been battling viruses this week. Anna started with it early in the week and seems to be on the mend. Kate began mid-week and was pretty miserable yesterday and today with a fever, coughing and a terrible runny nose. She seemed a little better today, so I am hoping the worst is over for her. She and I slept downstairs last night. Elizabeth started last night with the nose and her fever began tonight. So, tonight, there are three sleeping downstairs...brings back memories of the months on the couch! None of the girls have been eating that great, but are getting most of their bottles down. I did a quick measurement of them this morning and all three were around 23 inches long! Kate's head is still slightly smaller at 39.75cm while the other two are 40.25cm. Weights this AM were: Anna- 9lbs 14.5 oz., Kate and Elizabeth 8 lbs. 14.5oz. (They have been pretty much the same weight for a while now). We'll see how accurate I am at their appointment on Tuesday.

And one with my favorite little man

Lil' Kickers

Jack has been taking a soccer class since last December. Today, John snapped a few pictures of him. Our little soccer star!
