Garage Sale!

We had a garage sale Friday and today. I would classify it as a success--but it took A LOT of work! My sister and mom came to help and added their "junk" to the sale which made the amount of items for sale rather large! My dad, not only carried over tables and helped set up, but he had baby sitting duty! I think he loves to watch the girls, but after two full days of the triplets...well, I think anyone needs a break :) After we closed up today, we went to celebrate with our niece, Maria, for her second birthday.

Friday was busier than today, and thankfully the rain held off until this afternoon. We has so much to sell on Friday, that we needed to set up stuff on the driveway. This is a picture of the garage when we opened the door at 7 am. We still had to organize the items in between the table rows outside. Mind you, there was a customer waiting to shop! Our sale was advertised to start at 8 am!

This picture is a little embarrassing. I said we had a lot of stuff!

Before organizing some stuff outside.

The sale on Friday morning. This picture doesn't do the sale justice. There was stuff to the left that is not in the frame and the garage had four rows of filled tables.

Jack and Abby sold lemonade and made $12! The first customer asked us if we had a garbage can. When Julie reached for her cup, there was smeared orange cheese on the cup---Jack and Abby were eating a bag of Cheetos. Yuck! The women was super nice, we offered her a new cup and she said she only bought it because they were so cute. We had the kids go and wash their hands after that. At one point we overhead Jack telling a customer that that was all they would get they were running out of lemonade (he filled the cup about 1/4 full). We had to tell him to fill the cups and we could make more lemonade :)

After getting tired of the lemonade table, these two played in their cozy coups all day and drove around with their money and "bought" things from our sale. So, they were re-buying stuff we were trying to sell!
After a long first day, all the kids needed a bath. I never put the girls in the bath tub, I can't figure out how to do it safely. But, Julie coaxed me to put them in with Jack and Abby and the girls were trying to climb into the tub. So, I did. Here is a picture before it got out of hand.

Things were turning south in this picture. I think at one point they were all crying and I took out Elizabeth, dried her off and took out Kate. Meanwhile, Elizabeth peed on the floor and Kate slipped and fell...blah, blah, blah, you get the idea. I think Anna peed on the carpet that night too. Well, at least we tried.

DAY TWO
The girls played outside in the morning. We weren't as busy so we could watch them for a while. I have been waiting for the girls to wear these Red Sox outfits. Still too big--we had to pin them, but they were little cuties :)

Anna

Classic Anna sour face--she is the queen of dirty looks!

Kate and Alexa

Kate put her arm around Alexa without prompting. Too cute!

The three of us were pretty proud of our sale. We had one lady tell us it was the best garage sale she had ever been too. Another asked us if we would do other sales. I guess we'll have to do this again--it is a lot of work, but when your sale brings in almost $2,000, it makes it worth it, right?
