Jack's Surgery

Jack had surgery this morning. He developed an intermittent esotrophia (turning in) of his right eye just before he turned two years old  last November. We started seeing an ophthalmologist and his eye has gotten worse over the last ten months and so, Dr. Kipp recommended surgery for Jack. Today was such a hard day for John and I. Jack just didn't really get what surgery was and he had a hard time when he was wheeled into the OR without his mom and dad. As a parent, that must be one of the toughest things I have ever had to do. Thankfully, he did great, he was able to go home this afternoon and his eyes are healing. There was an 80% chance one surgery would correct his eyes forever, so we are hoping and praying this will be it.

Before the surgery, John and I were with Jack in the pre-op area. He was given surgery hats for his bellas and Buddy and he talked with both grandmas on the phone before his surgery.
